Mike Griffiths, 47, trained as a Chartered Surveyor, did volume residential sales for 8 years then developed his own software ideas into a business. That business became the UK’s biggest supplier of estate agency software and was sold to an internet portal in 2000. Mike left soon afterwards.
Peter MacKay, 39, met up with Mike in 1998 whilst working for a south west regional estate agent, became sales manager and later a director of “the last business”.
Pete runs our business on a day to day basis. Our department heads report to him.
The Partners
We are a partnership. Each of our departments is controlled by a partner with shares in the business. This ensures that we offer the best possible service to our clients.
Tom Levitt – Head of Sales – ex-estate agent Tom joined the team in the last business as a support technician rapidly progressing to a senior position. Within a year he joined the sales team and after a short time rewarded with the position of senior sales. Next he worked for a regional agent and joined Websky in early 2004. Tom’s sales team is currently 3 full time account managers plus help from Pete and Mike.
Marcus Kilgour – Head of Development – Marcus studied computing at university before joining “the last business” doing training, support and later software development. Marcus has a team of two full time developers writing new and improving existing features plus a full time web designer and two consultants. Marcus did a gruelling 6-week residential course in 2007 to qualify as a “Microsoft Certified Professional Enterprise Developer, and a Microsoft Certified Technical Specialist in Windows Applications, Website Applications & Client Service Applications”. Since then, Steve Shenton, his senior developer colleague has also obtained Microsoft’s premiere qualifications in enterprise and database applications. Additionally, he is a qualified Cisco network engineer, specialising in information security and firewall configuration.
Dave Kayira – Head of Support – Dave joined “the last business” in 1998. He is responsible for planning our customer support strategy and systems. His team comprises 4 support technicians and a full time trainer. Dave also spent 6 weeks last year away from the business on a residential course to obtain the highly prized title “Microsoft Certified IT Professional Database Administrator and a Microsoft Technology Specialist in SQL Server 2005”
The Team
Apart from Mike, we’re a young dynamic team. We comprise sales and account managers, software developers, software support technicians, software trainers, administrators and graphic designers. We have an excellent work culture that encourages creativity and innovation. We also have a lot of fun – we aim to have a social event every few weeks, we ski together every winter and we have a summer activity weekend away together.

The Premises
We have 3000sq ft of excellent office space in the centre of Bath. We acquired the premises as a brand-new empty shell then fitted them out to our specification in 2004. This gives us dedicated meeting space and training facilities plus lots of room for expansion. We are right in the middle of Bath’s Roman and Georgian splendour and its excellent shops and restaurants are all around us. Our premises create exactly the right kind of environment needed to keep us happy and impress clients, partners and potential employees.
